Sixteen-year-old Sam has a summer internship writing obituaries for the local newspaper. This is interesting on its own, but when she begins to track down information on a bigger story, things really take off, professionally but also personally. Secondary characters are not as fully realized as Sam is in this refreshing story that is less about romance and more about determination.
