But being over four hundred pages, and with a cast of over one hundred cats, it'll prove daunting to anyone not already indoctrinated into the ways of the semi-anthropomorphic felines. This "Super Edition" includes an appended bonus manga.

Although pleased to be home and seeing old friends, they are fearful of the schism they find in the bear community. Series fans won't want to miss the classic Hunter mix of fantasy and adventure in this final installment of this formulaic Seekers-spinoff series.

However formulaic or unoriginal the series can be, the readers who are devoted to the cats of SkyClan and ThunderClan and their never-ending saga will be delighted to have this mammoth four-hundred-plus-page "Super Edition" to ingest.

Lucky is not the only dog having prophetic dreams in this sixth installment of the series: Blade, the leader of the Fierce Dogs, has also had dream warnings of an upcoming Big Growl more devastating than the last. The number of characters is overwhelming, but devoted fans will enjoy the dramatic and inviting story.

(4) 4-6 Warriors: Dawn of the Clans series. Blazing Star picks up after the events of The First Battle: as the cats try to rebuild, disease and a cat named One Eye threaten resolution. In Forest Divided, the cats must "grow and spread like the Blazing Star" to ensure survival. The lengthy narratives and large cast of characters are overwhelming, but serious fans will enjoy the Warriors' further adventures. After besting his father in a fight to reclaim his home territory, Toklo decides to journey to Great Bear Lake with Lusa, Kallik, and Yakone for the Longest Day Gathering. Unfortunately, they run into some flat-faces (people) along the way, complicating their journey. Series fans will enjoy the formulaic exploits of the familiar bear characters in this fifth adventure.

(4) 4-6 Survivors: The Gathering Darkness series. Storm and Arrow, former Fierce Dogs, are the newest members of the Wild Pack. Storm (who killed cruel Fierce Dog leader Blade) has been accepted by the others, but Arrow is being shut out, and prejudices and fears threaten to destabilize the pack. Though tracking the many personalities will challenge newbies, this is a winsome, adventurous installment of the popular series.

Tribe leader Clear Sky's pregnant mate, Star Flower, is taken hostage by rogue cat Slash in an evil effort to persuade the five warrior clans to share their resources. To get her back, the cats must put aside their differences and work together. Newcomers to the series may find the number of characters unwieldy, but fans should enjoy another energetic, high-stakes adventure.

(4) 4-6 Warriors series. Young Moth Flight chases after a moth, leading her and WindClan into danger. Ashamed, she runs away. But when Moth Flight is visited by spirit-cats, she interprets a greater purpose for her journey. Fans of the series will be happy to follow these cat characters, new and returning, but the uninitiated may find the large cast and lengthy narrative overwhelming.

Lucky questions Alpha's leadership as their Pack tries to stay safe from the Fierce Dogs, and he eventually leads a mission---against Alpha's wishes--to rescue Fiery from humans whose animal-testing practices shed new light on the condition of the devastated post–Big Growl city. Lucky's fascination with how dogs get their adult names brings focus to the (overabundant) Pack members' backstories.
