Well meaning but dull, this rhyming paean to parents playing with their children is narrated by a father. Dad thinks of adventures like going to the lake to "play as army rangers," but any place comes to life when Dad's involved. Colorful and soft mottled illustrations of a father and his children depict an idyllic family day.

This original tale adds religious faith (and a New Testament quotation) to a story about three knights trying to win a princess's hand. The pink, sparkly cover and delicate illustrations may attract girly-girls; the Christian values will speak to adults seeking out faith-based materials. Unfortunately, the princess has little voice in this traditional portrait of royal marriage.
