Bull terrier Daisy (from Daisy's Babies, among others) has three puppies now, and Baby likes to boss around her favorite, Little Daisy. While the puppy appears to be obeying bossy Baby's commands, preschoolers who see that it's simply coincidence will enjoy feeling smarter than Baby. Softly colored, amusing illustrations make the most of the slapstick--including Baby's mother's own failed attempts to order Big Daisy around.

Mother dog Daisy has three puppies who love to play with the baby of the house--even if they can't always agree on what to do. Making a mess and eating a snack are much higher on their lists than cleaning up, of course. A patient--unrealistically so--mom helps tidy up after everyone's antics. Warm illustrations bring this energetic brood to life.

Daisy teaches her puppies--and the baby--important things: how to open the mail (with their teeth), set the table (or un-set it), and dig in the garden. But it turns out that Mother, not Daisy, knows best. The humorous shenanigans are directed right at preschoolers, who will respond to the softly shaded illustrations of the huggable pups and innocent, well-intentioned Daisy.
