As roommates at "fat camp," Wilhelmina and April are an odd couple. April believes weight loss will bring her popularity; Wil, at camp against her will, secretly plots to gain weight. Pop culture and brand-name references trump character development in this light tale. Though readers may initially relate to the girls' struggles, a mean-spirited revenge plot will likely distance them.
