Seeking relief for his mysterious lung disease, Lucas Trainor's family relocates from NYC to an unknown uncle's bizarre mansion in rural Hounds Hollow. There Lucas finds almost no technology but also much more malicious things such as ghosts, scary hounds, and dark family secrets. This is a quick and easy-to-read if facile horror story for middle graders new to the genre.

M Freeman (Lawless; Justice) starts normal school with all the typical adolescent anxieties--and no memories of her criminal past. A near-death experience brings everything back, and it's nonstop action, twists, and adventure from there as M cobbles together a team of Lawless School criminals and Fulbright Academy law-enforcement outsiders. Newcomers will need to orient themselves; series fans will find the thrills they expect.

In this gripping sequel to Lawless, M Freeman is a prisoner/soldier-in-training at her rival school and claiming to seek justice. But M's master criminal skills prove things aren't as they seem. This adventure/spy novel, with training courses straight out of a video game, has ample sources of intrigue with double agents, futuristic technology, secret objectives, and cunning characters to boot.

When she first enrolled, M Freeman didn't know that her dead father's alma mater, Lawless, was the top-notch criminal training school for the children of top-notch criminals. As M learns about her dad's master criminal status and his fascination with a certain Rembrandt painting, she picks up where his last art heist left off. A smart and funny escapist read.
