(3) 4-6 Illustrated by Michal Dziekan. Nick and Burger witness something very odd: a bear driving a delivery van over a cliff. Even weirder: the van is full of magic costumes that make things a little too real when put on. Now it's up to Nick and Burger to prevent a Halloween party from becoming a deadly disaster. Smith's inventive premise is supported by humor and a vibrant pace.

(3) 4-6 Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast series. Illustrated by Christian Slade. David's dream has come true: his grandma and his friend Amy's dad have both gone off-world and left them alone together. But the dream turns into a nightmare when avid UFO watchers find out the B & B's secret. There are no big surprises in the third installment, but fans of the series will undoubtedly enjoy the same gross-out humor and likable characters.

(3) 4-6 Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast series. In this follow-up to Aliens on Vacation, David is looking forward to spending another summer at his grandmother's Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast. When he arrives, though, he finds out that the new alien handyman may be out to destroy Earth. Even worse: nobody will believe him! The fast-paced, funny story will keep fans of the series hooked.

(3) 4-6 Scrub is spending the summer with the grandmother he barely knows in Washington State. Although he's surprised (and embarrassed) by the hokey space theme of her bed and breakfast, he soon gets an even bigger shock: the patrons are extraterrestrials. Humorous descriptions of the aliens and of Scrub's antics to evade the town's nosy sheriff enhance the accessible story.
