Allie has been away at CodeGirls summer camp, successfully developing an app aimed at helping people develop friendships based on shared interests. But testing her app in the real world puts her school classmates' privacy, and their friendships, at risk. The characters ring true and the timely lessons are subtle, keeping readers engaged and perhaps inspiring them to try the appended coding activities.

Having spent five years hiding her OCD from friends who value "normalcy and perfection," sixteen-year-old Sam discovers the clandestine Poet's Corner, where she meets new friends she can trust, perhaps even with her secret. Thoughtful first-person narration uncovers challenges of life with OCD. Unfortunately, despite the acknowledgment that Sam's difficulty distinguishing fantasy from reality isn't part of her OCD, it muddies the portrayal.

San Franciscan time-traveler Bennett (Time Between Us) tries to make his long-distance relationship with Anna work, but it's challenging, seeing as she's in 1995 Illinois--seventeen years in the past. Bennett's ability becomes still more complicated when a friend's accident persuades him to adjust past sequences of events and tinker with fate. The star-crossed-lovers premise is well executed in this touching sequel.
