Jasper, bred to join the Earth Force, is training at EarthBound Academy to become a Bounder--able to "quantum bound" through space to anywhere in the universe. But Jasper discovers the Force's real reasons for creating Bounders, and it's not what he's been told. Aside from some filler scenes, the plot is tight enough to lead readers from one revealed secret to the next.
