This collective biography introduces a diverse group of both well-known (Simone Biles, Abby Wambach, Wilma Rudolph) and less-well-known women athletes from a notably wide range of sports and other physical disciplines, including softball, swimming, cycling, wheelchair racing, football, and ballet. The three-page profiles follow the same format: full-page action illustration, a page of some "Amazing Facts and Unbelievable Stats," and a one-page overview of career highlights, personal and professional challenges, and causes championed off the field/mat/ice/etc. Readers will be inspired to learn more; two pages of selected sources are appended as is an index.

This is an interesting collective biography of children and youth from around the world and throughout history who've invented, created, started charities, fought for justice, and challenged the status quo. Despite cheesy writing and some superficial entries, today's young readers will be particularly impressed by the diverse range of contemporary kids included. Best for browsing as the volume is not organized alphabetically or chronologically. Bib.

With their neat, colorful layouts punctuated by satisfying nuggets of information, these small, attractive books will appeal to young travelers and their adult companions. With large print and generic graphics (photographs would have been better), these guides feature regular inserts of quizzes, word searches, and "Fun Facts" breaking up brief narratives on unique aspects and historical events relevant to the various places covered. Review covers the following titles: Secrets of Our Nation's Capital and Secrets of the National Parks.

Some would even say they are the greatest rock and roll band of all time"). Discographies are appended. Reading list, timeline, websites. Glos., ind. Review covers these Rebels of Rock titles: Judas Priest, Grateful Dead, and KISS.
