The very posh Savage family keeps their food preferences to themselves--cannibalism isn't exactly legal. When teenage Sasha dates a devoted vegetarian who cheats on her with a militant vegan, things really get cooking in this tastefully gruesome comedy.

In this sequel to Icecore, computer hacker Carl is in hiding in London with Beth. He's one of the world's most wanted criminals, and there's a bounty on his head. The plot highlights the fact that the flaw in any computer is its human element--and this is Carl's flaw as well. Short chapters and present-tense narration make for a highly suspenseful read.

This taut, disturbing story portrays twelve-year-old Sonny and his best friend, Alberto, living in the impoverished, violent city of MedillÃn, Colombia. Sonny and Alberto, lured by the promise of money and power, become child assassins for drug lords. Although disjointed at times, this bleak, heartbreaking story is powerful and haunting.
