Foster includes two of his own poems in this picture book collection of twenty-one nighttime poems. Traditional rhymes mix with favorites by Eve Merriam and Eleanor Farjeon along with poems by less-well-known writers. Acrylic paintings use delicately outlined people set against backgrounds that shade from twilight colors to midnight blue.
