Tib & Tumtum series.
Illustrated by
Bannister.
Tib's best friend is a dinosaur, which, as they should be extinct, doesn't sit well with his prehistoric clan. The truth is Tumtum makes a better friend than the mean kids in the tribe. How can Tib convince the others his dinosaur isn't dangerous? This second graphic novel's short comical panels are illustrated in vivid greens and blues, with pops of Tumtum's red.

Tib & Tumtum series.
Translated by Carol Klio Burrell.
Illustrated by
Bannister.
Tib, a young caveboy who is teased about the birthmark on his face, makes friends with a shy dinosaur with a similar marking. Of course, Tib has a hard time convincing his tribe that Tumtum is real, seeing as dinosaurs are long-extinct. Suitable for younger comic fans, much of the graphic novel's humor is visual, relayed skillfully in Bannister's lively art.

Graphic Universe: The Elsewhere Chronicles series.
Illustrated by
Bannister.
The kids' adventures in another world continue as one of their own is struck by an incurable illness, and only the Master of Shadows, a terrifying force, can change her fate. Rich, dramatic illustrations and a quick pace make this graphic novel exciting, though the action can occasionally be hard to follow; those new to the series will find this outing rather baffling.

This graphic novel series grows even darker in its fifth volume. While trying to rescue their friends from the evil Master of Shadows, Grandpa Gabe and Max face a variety of monsters and dangers. The action can be hard to follow, but the panel art creates striking and detailed images that bring the world of Elsewhere to life.
