(4) 4-6 Illustrated by Roman Muradov. To raise money, George accepts a job at Wormestall Farm caring for unusual (and supposedly extinct or fantastical) animals. But when the new town taxidermist wants to stuff and mount all the animals, George and his compatriots must rally to protect the farm. Despite a simplistic plot and caricatured villains, the blend of lighthearted humor and brisk adventure is entertaining.

(4) 4-6 Illustrated by Roman Muradov. Eleven-year-old Fairday has just moved away from her best friend and Detective Mystery Squad companion, Lizzy. Moreover, she's moved into Begonia House, which is clearly haunted. Through somewhat hackneyed discoveries, Fairday, Lizzy, and new classmate Marcus investigate what happened to Ruby Begonia there more than fifty years ago. Black-and-white illustrations support the spooky setup of this run-of-the-mill paranormal mystery.
