Queen Dog (clad in crown and ruffled collar) rules her "castle" (home) until a human baby's arrival distracts the "servants" (parents). After a "thief" (boy) disrupts the baby's "royal ball" (party), Queen Dog decides to help the "princess-in-training" (baby). The interplay between faux royal narration and droll illustrations of everyday life adds playful humor to the familiar story of jealous pet and new baby.
