Illustrated by
Heather Wilson.
Kaner and Wilson use humor to teach children how twelve animals eat. As a biracial family sits down for lunch, the narrator urges the kids not to behave like animals. For example, “never taste your salad with your feet like a butterfly.” Wilson’s digitally created illustrations with “hand-painted texture details” add to the entertainment. The text can be wordy at times but should hold the interest of animal enthusiasts. A list of additional animal facts is appended.
