Doug Mindell.
This handsome poetry collection also contains brief essays written by teens about their dogs. While not as polished as Sidman's keenly observed poems, the essays may make the book accessible for readers more into dogs than poetry. The black-and-white photos are also a combination of casual (snapshots of the teens' dogs) and sophisticated (Mindell's accomplished, arty photos).
