Nancy Carpenter.
A toddler shares her observations with the reader as her mom strolls her around their bustling neighborhood. Nye's text has a herky-jerky, self-consciously poetic quality ("Hot dog dropped / mooshy mess / Pigeons / poking beaks / into bun / Fun!"), but the concept of a stroller-bound reporter is inspired, and Carpenter's watercolor and pen illustrations are engaging, particularly those from the headlight-high young narrator's perspective.
