Eighteen-year-old Bridget can't shake the feeling that there are three of them in her new relationship with Jasper: she is still actively mourning the death of her best friend and one-time lover, Benji. Bridget's narrating voice has snap, and the novel is well observed, but a key plot point--Bridget leads Jasper to believe that Benji is alive--strains credibility and patience.
