Freshman year brings changes for Lucy Doyle. Her older brother moves back home with his girlfriend, who ends up sharing Lucy's room. Lucy's first romance with a cute upperclassman is appropriately myopic, as she and her friends analyze each look for hidden meaning. More serious changes are gracefully managed in Lucy's understanding family, allowing her to linger in the protected waters of her gentle sexual awakening.
