Six frolicking rabbits don't notice a hungry fox prowling until he's upon them. As the number of the rabbits (and the onlooking sheep, ducks, and mice) dwindle one by one, the fox keeps trying to pounce. Although it is not clear at first if the rabbits have been eaten, their safe return home is revealed at the end. Expressive watercolors, showing a fierce fox, illustrate this counting book.
