A tersely written prose-poem describes the action during a soccer game, with the final line in each quatrain reflecting a coach or player's exclamation ("Great save! Clear it!"). Hazy blends of color and energetic lines imbue the illustrations with motion. The picture-book audience may thumb through this attractive book, but slightly older readers are more likely to dig in and enjoy it if they aren't put off by the format.
