K-3QEB Storytime Classics series.
Illustrated by
Bruno Merz.
These unexciting but inoffensive adaptations simplify the classic fairy tales for young readers, though some challenging vocabulary remains (e.g., Cinderella's "stepmother and stepsisters gaped at her in amazement"; Hansel and Gretel are "starving but delighted" when they eat the gingerbread house). Each tale is illustrated in a style befitting that story, though the default seems to be Disney Princess. Review covers these QEB Storytime Classics titles: Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hansel and Gretel, and Sleeping Beauty.
