Anyone who loved the first two titles about search-and-rescue dog Hero will eat up this installment, in which boy Ben feels compelled to rescue his cop father when he's captured by escaped convicts. Once again, nearly superhuman and -canine powers are necessary to overcome exposure to the elements, physical trauma, etc. Readers willing to suspend their disbelief will be entertained.
