Solitary pig Hilda and a curious human baby from a lively village meet when the baby propels his carriage down a hill. Hilda finds meaning as the baby's minder and chum, the baby's loving but weary parents get a break, and the runaway baby is able to maintain his freedom and wandering ways. Hirst does a wonderful job with setting in this sweet, cheerful tale's screenprinted illustrations.
