PSMonster under the Bed series.
Huggly, a monster, explores the bathroom one night, cleaning between his toes with a toothbrush and making a slime pit out of the tub until he is surprised by a sleepy child. Arnold uses squiggly colored pencil lines in his cartoon-style drawings of the googly-eyed monster and his naïve shenanigans. The story, which gains a certain amount of momentum as Huggly gets into more mischief, ends with an unsatisfying thud.
