In this sophisticated interpretation of the Cinderella story, the tale as we know it is here, but more psychological depth is revealed. Using varied verse forms and rhyme schemes, different characters (including two melodramatic glass slippers) tell the story. The occasional stylized double-page-spread illustrations are more effective than the small vignettes that accompany many of the poems.
