Second-grader Iggy's sour teacher, scarred by a childhood trauma, discourages Iggy's passion for building things. When a footbridge collapses while the class is on a field trip, however, Iggy's talent saves the day. The book's clever rhymes suffer from rhythmic lapses, but the power-of-art message and the pristine, occasionally blueprint-like illustrations deserve gold stars.
