Somewhat awkwardly rendered pastel watercolors capture a young girl's memories of her mother who has died after an illness. The girl recalls special moments they shared--walking through fall leaves, watching the rising of a full moon, and preparing a meal. This reassuring story effectively speaks to the emotions that follow the death of a parent, although readers may be puzzled by the only peripheral appearance of her father.
