Illustrated by
Diane Bigda.
On each double-page spread, the text asks "What kind of animal says..." while animal sounds from several different languages (gav-gav, bo-bo, woof-woof) are provided. The reader opens the fold to discover the identity of the animal. The book is attractive to look at, but the busy design--which incorporates whimsical handlettering--often gets in the way of the information. There is no pronunciation guide.
