A family thinks their huge black Newfoundland dog is too old to help with their annual holiday tradition--hauling a Christmas tree out of the woods on a sled. They leave Cora's harness behind, but to everyone's surprise she takes the lead anyway, running in front of the sled where she knows she belongs. The woodcut and watercolor art is more appealing than the rather flat story.
