(4) K-3 Illustrated by Greg Newbold. A quarrelsome group of barnyard animals comes together to help Santa finish his toy delivery after his belly--too much Christmas pudding--grounds his reindeer. The bold, color-saturated illustrations are comical (especially the pictures of barnyard animals flying through the air tied to balloons), but mediocre rhymes and a clumsy denouement hamper this twist on the Clement Moore classic.
