Karl James Mountford.
At midnight, young Oscar and a woolly mammoth follow the latter's younger brother into the Curious Museum; they must find him before "the magic hour's over!" (Turns out the mammoth is part of an exhibit.) Flaps, most of which reveal museum-geared facts, interrupt the rote story. The art is microscopically detailed and broody, giving the museum the tantalizing look of a haunted house.
