Christopher Bing.
Bing illustrates this poem as a military operation, performed in stealth and carried out as one vital piece of a complex tactical maneuver. As in Casey at the Bat, Bing uses the physical book to evoke a historical period as well as to record it, but here detail rides roughshod over coherence. Appended explanatory notes provide historical background, sometimes contradicting the text, sometimes complementing it. Bib.
