Eight tall tales relate the misadventures of young Mark and his friends, including a stink-bomb war, a cookie catastrophe, an epic boogie-boarding wipe-out, and a Halloween dare gone wrong. But with its strong pacing and preteen-boy sensibility, it's undeniably entertaining.
