(3) PS Oxenbury's famous pair--toddler Tom and his toy monkey, Pippo--translates fairly well to the board book format. The texts, which aren't as baby-oriented as those in Oxenbury's other board books, have lost some of their charm, as the narration has been changed from Tom's voice to third person. Nevertheless, these are smaller, sturdier alternatives to the original picture books.
