Originally published as The Family Christmas Tree Book, this informational picture book provides (undocumented) facts about the history of and customs surrounding this Christmas symbol. In the framing story, a mom and dad share with their two kids historical tidbits about Christmas trees, lights, and ornaments; readers see the family’s progress from cutting a tree down through setting a star on top. A refreshingly low-key offering.
