Grant, an artist who found fame creating the Snap! Crackle! and Pop! characters for Rice Krispies cereal in the 1930s, also illustrated nursery rhymes that appeared on the back of the cereal boxes. Twenty-four of those are reproduced here, revealing a crisp sense of graphic design and flair as a colorist. As charming as his elfin storyland denizens are, this may be most appealing to those interested in the history of commercial art.
