Parr lists things that children need (a home, kisses) and explains that the parents and children pictured belong together because the adults can provide these things. The text is as simple as Parr's bold illustrations, which feature many gender and color combinations (some people are blue and purple). The message is a bit obvious, but it's a worthy and welcome one.
