K-3Big Buddy Books: Creepy Creatures series.
Each of these formulaic books begins with "scary stories" and some history about the titular creature. General facts ("Did you know?" asides are scattered throughout) lead to a final "What Do You Think?" chapter. The coverage is superficial, but straightforward and accessible language, lots of illustrations and photographs, and open page design make the volumes adequate introductions to these phenomena. Glos., ind. Review covers these Big Buddy Books: Creepy Creatures titles: Bigfoot, Ghosts, and Zombies.
