In this slight presentation, three-sentence "chapters" follow a foal from birth to adulthood at age three. Each right-hand page has a full-color photograph of the foal with her mother, in action alone or with other foals, which will draw in animal lovers. Oddly, the mare pictured on the front cover is not the mare in the interior photos. Glos., ind.

Kids will be intrigued by the full-color, close-up photos showing frog eggs, water-dwelling tadpoles, and the progression to air-breathing frogs. New readers will appreciate the simple sentences describing what to look for in each picture as the transformation unfolds. This is a slight but engaging presentation. Glos., ind.
