Three New York City–raised sisters face the revelation of youngest Melanie's sexual assault in a forthright and stark family drama. The alternating point-of-view chapters--including some from Melanie's assailant--contribute to a nuanced, multi-voiced portrayal of acquaintance sexual assault and rape culture. A lengthy afterword provides resources (but also over-explains the sturdy narrative).
