(4) K-3 Illustrated by Cyd Moore. It's time for bed, but a little girl is sure there's a monster in her room. Luckily, Granny's got all the answers, and her "very large but good-hearted dragon" is the best bodyguard around. Written almost entirely in dialogue, the story has verve but doesn't really focus on the child narrator. Moore's art is bright and fanciful, and her monsters are more comical than threatening.
